Well what a huge change for us all at Nees Racing.
The opportunity to purchase "the" car I have admired so much since it's inception meant a whole lotta shuffling around to make it happen. Firstly I want to thank Josh & Bruce Boulton for finally giving in to my question "when are you gonna sell that car to me?" As this happened so quickly I instantly parked up our existing car to save funds and I gotta admit it was a bit scary owning 2 Super Saloons for a while.
However was pleased to move the exisitng car onto it's new owners and we wish them all the best with their racing out of Bay Park Tauranga.
I'm sure they will get the car going really well :)
Here's a bunch of random pics over the last month or so and we now look forward to the new season. Bring It On!
Cheers for now ... Flash.

September 2016
Been a real busy winter with plenty of work achieved by a whole bunch of people. Glen Campbell, Ian Tomlinson and Steve Templeton just to name a few. Plus the generous assistance of Kaiapoi Collision Centre, Les Hunter Racing Products, Canterbury Powdercoaters and Kaiapoi Trailers. 811 is progressing well and we should be on target to debut the car at the opening round of the Vertex Super Cup on 4th November in Invercargill. Check out the random picture gallery taken of 811 over the winter rebuild.

The off-season rebuild of 811 is now underway and I gotta say this chassis has stood up extremely well considering the outright punishment I dealt it throughout the race season. It's been trashed and abused
heapsespecially the massive roll-over at NZ champs proved just how good the Kevin Moore chassis is. The car was running hard-out again the next day with little chassis work required. I've even saved and re-welded the aluminium bonnet scoop that got flattened when the car was upside-down :)
Glen is constantly pulling more of the car apart so we can get some alterations/updates underway. We have some new electric actuators for the rear suspension which we will adapt and enhance.
Both of our engines are currently undergoing rebuild (thanks to Steve at Gas Lewis Pass). Plus the mid-mount section of the car is completely dismantled due to the dry sump drives being worn out and I'm currently reconditioning the Bert gearbox myself. The internal clutch has been knackered for ages plus the bearings were well overdue for replacement. Will be placing an order for a bunch of replacement gear from the states very soon.
One thing that I am very pleased about is the front driveshaft. This is still in mint conditiion after being built by MS Coombes in Christchurch last winter. This replaced the sub-standard units we were being sold by our previous supplier. I'm still of the opinion that their last driveshaft cost us the engine and the championship we were winning last Easter.
We have another set of body panels underway which will get the finishing touches at Kaiapoi Collision Centre (white of course). Our covered in trailer will also get a bit of loving over winter when we can squeeze in the time.
And talking about time ... I've been asked how we manage to get everything done without a huge team. I don't know the answer but if you are keen to help out then come and join us LOL
Cheers for now ... Flash.

Geeeeez I have wrecked some stuff over the last few meetings. Suspension arms, steering arms, track arms, shocks, tyres, etc etc. Gotta say thanks heaps to Gail & Les at Les Hunter Racing Products for the suspension arm work and appologise for keeping them so busy at present. We are replenishing the spares package this week so we can head off to the SI Champs in Nelson. See ya's all trackside.
Cheers ... Flash.

A heap of work has gone into 811 to be ready for our first round of the Elf Super Cup for the season. It's off to Invercargill for Elf and the Southland Championships this weekend.
Still got plenty of work to do before we head off though. Glen has been sorting the bodywork and we have the new rear spoiler finished. The front suspension is undergoing a bit of a make over since I found a few issues after the battering we took on Boxing day.
Also want to welcome Broadhurst Builders aboard with our team. Max has been watching speedway for many years so we certainly look forward to the partnership opportunity. Thanks heaps for the support!!!

Hopefully there isn't too much work to do after Invercargill this weekend but then who am I tyring to kid? LOL.
Cheers for now ... Flash.

Dec 2015
We are still busy on 811 and since my health scare it's been an issue to get the jobs sorted. Pam didn't let me in the workshop for ages LOL. I should get the all clear from the cardiologist this week which will see 811 back on track at Woodford Glen's Boxing Day meeting.
Meantime I have a diff to re-assemble plus exhaust and steering to complete. Gotta thank Grant Dacombe for doing all the steel work and welding while I was laid up. Glen & Casey for their panel and bodywork efforts and Kaiapoi Collision Centre for the speedy paintwork.
Les Hunter Racing Products are making the replacement spare suspension arms for us and a couple of workmates are sorting some jobbing work for us too, thanks heaps team.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and see ya's Boxing Day. Cheers ... Flash.
